
April 2006 - 'Eminescu, Eternal Longing, Impossible Love' - CD in English & bilingual companion book (Rom. "Eternul Dor, Imposibila Iubire") -- a media first. The poems are narrated by actor Jeremy Geidt (American Repertory Theater, Cambridge, MA.) and set to music performed by Romanian pianist Horia Mihail (more here)
May 1st - Poetry recital & launch of Eminescu CD/Book at Las Vegas Romanian Association hosted by Honorary Consul General of Romania Lia Roberts.
May 2nd - Eminescu presentation at the University of Las Vegas. Among those present, Mrs. Gayle Anderson, Chief of Protocol for the State of Nevada


May 6th - Poetry recital & launch of Eminescu CD/Book hosted by the Romanian Heritage Cultural Society at Saint Thomas Church - Los Angeles. Original paintings and drawings by fine artist Stefan Munteanu were also on display.
May 8th - Poetry recital & launch of Eminescu CD/Book at San Francisco's 'Casa Romana.'
May 9th - Eminescu presentation at Stanford University on the poet's relevance for contemporary audiences.


June 11th - Unveiling of Mihai Eminescu bust at the 'Saint George' Orthodox Cathedral, Winsdor, ON, Canada. The bust is the work of sculptor Aurel Contras and was generously made possible by Mr. & Mrs. Herman Victorov. A consecration sermon was performed by Archbishop Dr. Nicolaie Condrea and Father Gheorghe Sandulescu. The English version of 'La Steaua' /'Unto the Star- tr. A.G.Sahlean was inscribed on the pedestal alongside the original. more details here
June 16th - Poetry recital & launch of CD & Book ‘Eminescu - Eternal Longing, Impossible Love' at the Romanian Embassy, Washington, DC, hosted by Ambassador Sorin Ducaru. Representatives of the US administration, Romanian Community, the academic milieu and mass-media attended the event. The showroom also featured the exhibition “An American in Romania” by photographer Peter Kayafas, a segment of which presented photos with epitaph translations by A. G. Sahlean from their upcoming book 'The Merry Cemetery of Sapanta'


July - August -September - Design, development and completion of the present Global Arts website. The site was built with a view to keeping in touch with people interested in our activities and products, and for documentation relating to fund raising and grant applications.
October 29th - Global Arts fundraiser with Eminescu presentation - at the Longfellow Tennis Club - Wayland, MA.


November 19th - Eminescu presentation & recital at the Saint Mary's Orthodox Cathedral - Cleveland, OH. Founded in 1904 and rebuilt in a different location after being destroyed by fire in 1973, it is one of the few parishes endowed with a valuable collection of ethnic costumes and an art gallery. The church also functions as a cultural center for the American Romanian Community under the direction of Fr. Remus Grama.
