January 8, New York - Eminescu poetry recital at the NY Romanian Cultural Institute. A.G. Sahlean's recital of his translations introduced a very special and long-in-coming event - the launching of Eminescu's full works in facsimile edition published by the Romanian Academy. The edition was later displayed at the NY Book Expo America in May and then offered to the Library of the U.S. Congress in Washington. 

March 11, Boston - Music tour through the culture and history of the Neapolitan song. The event 'O Sole Mio - An Exploration of Neapolitan Song' was created by Adrian G. Sahlean to benefit the North End Music and Performing Arts Center. Joining Mr. Sahlean as presenter and tenor were soprano Caitlin Hadeler and mezzo-soprano Rebecca Rapoport-Cole.

April 20 , Bucharest, Romania - Interview for the Romanian Broadcasting Company on the progress of Global Arts projects and A.G. Sahlean's participation at the upcoming International Shakespeare Festival in Craiova.

April 23, Craiova, Romania - Invitation at the biannual International Shakespeare Festival by the festival's director and actor Emil Boroghina. The English versions from Eminescu by Sahlean were used as subtitles on an upcoming DVD with Boroghina's recitation of the Romanian originals.

April 29, Craiova, Romania - Actor and festival director Emil Boroghina recited Eminescu's original poem Glossa and A. G. Sahlean his English version of the same. The festival's guests of honor included celebrated scholars Stanley Watts and Michael Dobson from the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon who were presented by Italian Prof. Lamberto Tassinari with a controversial case for John Florio (one of the most significant cultural figures of the Elizabethan age) as The Man Who Was Shakespeare.

May 5, Bucharest, Romania - A.G. Sahlean interview for the Romanian Broadcasting Company on the upcoming launching on his book "Migalosul Cronofag" the following day.

May 6, Bucharest, Romania - Romanian National Library book launch of A.G. Sahlean's essays (in Romanian) on meter-and-rhyme translations of Eminescu into English. 'Migălosul Cronofag' (The Painstaking Chronophage) was launched in the presence of Domnița Ștefănescu ('Masina de Scris' Publishing editor)and Alex Ștefănescu (one of Romania's top literary critics), who also authored the volume's Foreword

May 8, Bucharest, Romania - Meeting with students of Anastasia Popescu High School. The students start English in Kindergarten and continue their intensive training throughout their education. The school was awarded the 'European School' distinction with the patronage of the European Union. The students were familiar with A.G. Sahlean's Eminescu English versions and presented him with a few touching recitations. The translator talked about the writing of his book "Migalosul Cronofag".

May 30, New York - Participation at the New York Book Expo America - the largest annual book trade fair in the U.S. with publishers from all over the world. Romania had a BEA stand for the first time, and Mr. Sahlean was among the presenters with a lecture on trans-cultural literary translations.

November 3, Newton, MA. - Presentation of the book of essays 'Migalosul Cronofag' to the Romanian community. The event 'Translating Eminescu with Adrian Sahlean' was held at the Auburndale Community Library.

November 23, Manchester, NH - Music recital by A.G. Sahlean with traditional Romanian songs. The event was part of a fundraiser to benefit the Romanian 'Saint John of Suceava Church'. 

November 30, Newton. Celebration of Romania's Independence Day and fundraising for the Association of Romanians in New England. Special guests for the occasion were the visiting Folk Group 'Plaiurile Dornei' from northern Romania. The ensemble is made of teen dancers who perform dances from northern Romania set to live music from a small band led by the group's director. A. G. Sahlean joined the performers with two Romanian songs from the region.

December 20, Manchester, NH - The Christmas Celebration included Nativity scenes performed by parishioners and children as well as traditional Romanian carols. Mr. Sahlean took part in the event that also raised money for the 'Saint John of Suceava Church'.
